Happy Holidays!
This week ahead is full of variety and activity. At the weekend our choirs will be singing at Mass and Evening Prayer for the last time before they finish for the summer break.
At Evening Prayer there will be an opportunity to say thank you to the Choir for their dedication to the celebration of the liturgy over the year and to say farewell to choristers who will be finishing this summer, many of them having sung in the choir for five or six years.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Hope University will be holding their graduation ceremonies in our Cathedral.
On Thursday I am looking forward to attending the opening Mass and Consecration of the new altar at Salford Cathedral. The Cathedral has had a long journey of restoration work which has meant that it has been closed for a considerable period with the repairs and restoration lasting almost three years. It has now been restored to its former glory, at significant cost and effort, so I hope to have the chance to have a good look around.
Our schools finish for the summer this week so I wish all our families a happy and safe summer holiday.
