The Cathedral sits at the top of Mount Pleasant, right in the heart of Liverpool. It’s easy to reach by foot, bus, train, or car.
On Foot
A 10-minute walk from the city centre. Head for the Adelphi Hotel, then follow Mount Pleasant up the hill to the Cathedral.
By Bus
The City Sightseeing Bus and City Explorer Bus stop at the Cathedral.

By Train
Liverpool Lime Street Station is about a 10-minute walk. Follow signs to the universities and Cathedrals.
Central Station (Merseyrail) is also nearby — exit the main entrance, walk up Mount Pleasant past the Adelphi Hotel, and follow the signs to the Cathedral.

From the M62: follow signs to Cathedrals
From Wirral: use Wallasey or Birkenhead tunnels (toll fees apply)

Additional parking is available at the University of Liverpool’s Mount Pleasant car park opposite the Cathedral.
Coaches and Minibuses
Short-term parking is available by prior arrangement. Email enquiries@metcathedral.org.uk to book.
We want everyone to feel welcome and able to explore the Cathedral comfortably.
Step-free access is available via the Cathedral car park, and lifts provide access to all visitor areas, including the Crypt.
Only assistance dogs are permitted inside the Cathedral.
