Work With Us

Cathedral Welcomers and Guides (Voluntary Positions)
After a highly successful year of maintaining a welcoming presence in the Cathedral during lock-down, we are now looking to expand our friendly team of welcomers and guides.  If you are passionate about the Cathedral, enjoy meeting people, and can dedicate a minimum of three hours a week – Monday to Saturday, we would love to hear from you.
We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. No prior experience is required as full training will be given.

Please contact Claire Hanlon for further details at c.hanlon@metcathedral.org.uk or 0151 709 9222.

Education Team Members (Voluntary Position)
Are you a retired or part time qualified teacher?
You could be part of the Cathedral’s Education Service team!
Come and help hundreds of school children  and young people to learn about our wonderful cathedral. ‘It’s a joy to watch children be amazed by the sheer beauty of John Piper’s lantern of light and colour and be able to bring the cathedral to life for the generations of the future’.

Please contact us at education@metcathedral.org.uk

Cathedral Stewards (Voluntary Position)
We are currently looking for volunteers to join our team of Cathedral Stewards. The main role of the Cathedral Steward is to offer a warm welcome to visitors attending services and Masses at the Cathedral. They assist also by taking the collection, with communion arrangements, giving out service sheets and answering questions and queries from visitors. Stewards work most Sunday mornings, along with occasional Sunday afternoon and weekday services.
We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. No prior experience is required as full training will be given.

Please contact Claire Hanlon for further details at c.hanlon@metcathedral.org.uk or 0151 709 9222.

Cathedral Readers (Voluntary Position)
We are currently looking for people to join our Guild of Readers. Our Readers play an essential part in all our Masses and Services, representing our wide and diverse congregation. If you are confident in public speaking and would be happy to join a regular rota, we would love to hear from you.
We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. No prior experience is required as full training will be given.

Please contact Claire Hanlon for further details at c.hanlon@metcathedral.org.uk or 0151 709 9222.
