Remembrance Sunday
There are over thirty conflicts throughout the world at the present time. The two most prominent in the news are in Ukraine and Israel / Palestine. The reports and pictures we have seen from both situations bring home to us all the horror and devastation of terrorism, war and conflict and the terrible impact it has on those who are caught up in the midst of these situations. The purpose behind Remembrance Sunday was never to glorify war but remember those who died in the major conflicts that have affected the world and to pray and work for peace. As we remember the Fallen in war in prayer let us also pray for those in positions of leadership that they make wise and measured decisions in situations of terrorism and defence of their country and peoples.
‘They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them’.
