One week to go: A Celebration of Christmas at the Metropolitan Cathedral Posted on Saturday 6 December 2025

There’s just one week to go until A Celebration of Christmas returns to the Metropolitan Cathedral on Saturday 13 December, one of the city’s most-loved festive concerts.

The evening brings together some of Liverpool’s finest choirs, including the Metropolitan Cathedral Choir, Metropolitan Cathedral Youth Choir, Cantate Adult Community Choir, Knowsley Catholic Children’s Choir, Widnes Catholic Children’s Choir and The Hope Street Consort. Expect traditional carols, beautifully layered choral pieces and that unmistakable sound of voices filling the Cathedral.

Dr Christopher McElroy, Director of Music, says the concert is “a highlight for everyone involved”, while Cathedral Dean Monsignor Tony O’Brien describes it as “a real festive tradition for the city”.

During the interval, guests can enjoy refreshments in the Gibberd Room and take part in a festive raffle before the second half of music begins.

Tickets are £10 or £18 for a family ticket, available here.

Don’t miss out — book now and start Christmas with an evening of music, atmosphere and seasonal cheer.
