The Friends of the Metropolitan Cathedral are hosting a series of Lenten Reflections in the run up to Easter. Each talk will be a unique opportunity to hear about worthwhile work being done in our community. For our first reflection we are delighted to be able to welcome Charlotte Hopkins who is the Community and Events Fundraiser for The Whitechapel Centre.
The Whitechapel Centre is the leading homeless and housing charity for the Liverpool region. They work with people who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation. They are committed to helping people find and maintain a home and learn the life skills essential for independent living.
Charlotte’s role is to help people who want to raise money to support The Whitechapel Centre’s work whether that be through their annual Sleepout, sponsored runs, bake sales, or any other fundraising initiatives.
The talk will aim to give us a better understanding of homelessness. It will explain the ways The Whitechapel Centre offers support, and how people can get involved in ending homelessness.
All are welcome to attend and entrance is free of charge.
