The Rawstorne Singers ( based in Preston) are a mixed-voice chamber choir of around 35 singers who perform local concerts of both religious and secular works and deputise for Cathedral choirs at services across the UK and Ireland (Eire), and was established by Michael Sands in 1980.
Taking its name from Bishop Atherton Gwilym Rawstorne, once Rector of Croston, and the only ever Bishop of Whalley, the Choir was originally formed as a visiting and training choir for the pupils of Bishop Rawstorne CE High School in Croston by Michael Sands, Director of Music at the School.
