Don’t miss this unique chance to see the awe-inspiring interior of the Metropolitan Cathedral as you’ve never seen it before.
In this special commission, renowned new-media artist Andy McKeown will create a brand new large scale light performance in collaboration with the Cathedral Choir and organist Matthew Searles.
The evening will include performances of music by Thomas Tallis and Arvo Pärt and is a brilliant opportunity for audiences to experience the Cathedral in a brand new way.
Join us for the whole evening, or find a spot in your wider itinerary to pop-in for a few moments to pause, reflect and feast your senses, as we celebrate LightNight 2017 in spectacular fashion.
Performances will take place at regular intervals, and entrance is free.
LightNight is Liverpool’s one-night arts festival, taking place annually in May since 2010. It is produced by social enterprise Open Culture. A unique collaborative event between over 100 organisations, with events staged across 50 city centre venues, the festival aims to raise the profile of the arts in Liverpool; to develop audiences, foster collaboration and offer a platform for both established and emerging artists.
