For the fourth in our series of Lenten Reflections, we welcome Dr Paula Powell from Willowbrook Hospice.
Born in Liverpool Dr Powell has nearly 29 years of experience as a doctor – firstly in General Practice in Bootle and latterly in Palliative Care. She has worked in St Helens & Knowsley as a Consultant since 2009 and has been the Clinical Lead at Willowbrook Hospice in Prescot for just over a year.
Willowbrook Hospice is a charity that provides care for people with life limiting conditions, often cancer but increasingly any cause. It has 12 inpatient beds and an active Outreach and Outpatient Service supporting patients and families in the community. The Team work closely with colleagues in the community and hospital. We aim to address the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of people in our care through a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
The talk will consider issues relating to dignity in end-of-life care and will offer an opportunity to contribute to discussion and debate.
Entrance is free and all are welcome to come along.
