The Metropolitan Cathedral is proud of its relationships with our three local Universities: the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University and Liverpool Hope University. The facilities of the cathedral and crypt are in regular use by the universities for examination sessions, graduation ceremonies and receptions.
The examination sessions take place in various areas of the Lutyens Crypt and require total silence which unfortunately involves closing the crypt to visitors.
University examinations will be held on Thursday 5 and Tuesday 12 May. On these days the Lutyens Crypt will be closed to visitors.
The daily lunchtime mass at 12.15pm will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in the Cathedral on these two days.
