Bank Holiday Organ Recital at Liverpool Cathedral Posted on Tuesday 21 May 2019

The annual bank holiday organ recital will take place at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on 27 May at 11.15am by Richard Lea, Metropolitan Cathedral Organist.

Featuring Mussorgsky’s spectacular Pictures at an Exhibition (famously recorded by Emerson, Lake & Palmer!) vividly depicts various scenes, including ‘The Gnome’, ‘The Old Castle’, ‘The Market Place at Limoges’ and the majestic ‘Great Gate of Kiev’, all linked by the ‘Promenade’, representing the viewer walking between the pictures. The recital will also include music by Franck and the late Noel Rawsthorne, Richard’s teacher. Admission is £5 on the day. For details visit the Liverpool Cathedral website.
