Now in its 16th year, this year’s “Mass for Healing” with be held at The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King on Friday 1st May at 7.00pm with confession available from 6.30pm.
The main celebrant will be Archbishop Malcolm McMahon, and he invites all parishioners throughout the whole Archdiocese to attend.
This is a very special service that has attracted people not only from the Archdiocese but different parts of the country. Originally the service was led by Fr Jimmy Collins, well known by the people of Liverpool for his gift of healing, who sadly passed away 3 years ago at the age of 94. It was Fr Jimmy’s sincere wish that this would continue and that it would grow to a stage where many people would be able to attend. Indeed the 1st May is the anniversary of Fr Jimmy’s funeral it is also the feast of St Joseph the Worker to whom he had great devotion.
Healing takes many forms…. spiritual, mental, physical, reconciliation, awareness and acceptance, everyone is affected in different ways and all receive some form of gift from the Holy Spirit. Some people say they get a sense of peace during the service and leave uplifted.
All will be very welcome to join us for this special service.
