The Sixteen Choral Pilgrimage 2025

Cathedral

Friday 4th April 2025, 7.30pm - 9.15pm

In a world filled with conflict and constant demands, the 2025 Choral Pilgrimage: Angel of Peace offers a sanctuary of calm and contemplation. This unique programme blends the ancient and the modern, with music spanning six centuries, bringing together the ethereal sounds of medieval abbess Hildegard of Bingen, the luminous works of Arvo Pärt, and the captivating voices of contemporary composers Will Todd and Anna Clyne.

Highlights include the world premiere of Orbits, a brand-new composition for choir and solo violin by Anna Clyne, alongside Will Todd’s moving I shall be an angel of peace, inspired by Cardinal Newman’s meditative reflections. These pieces, along with others, explore themes of peace, acceptance, and the balance of joy and sorrow in life.

Join Harry Christophers and The Sixteen, accompanied by violinist Sarah Sexton, for an unforgettable evening of transformative music.
