THE CATHEDRAL CHOIR ASSOCIATION

The Choir Association exists to support the Cathedral Choir and its work. Among the members of the Association are friends and supporters of the Choir, past and present choristers and choirmen. Between them they offer moral, practical and financial support to the Choir through regular fund raising events and social activities.

Having no ancient endowments, the costs of the Choir, scholarships and assistance with choristers´ school fees are a major item of the expenditure of the Cathedral´s budget. To help relieve some of the burden, the Choir Association provides assistance for special projects and events. Regular donations are made to the Choir Endowment Fund and the Association contributes as much as it can towards the costs of tours, recordings and other necessary items needed by the Choir.

Members are kept in touch with choir activities and with each other through a regular newsletter, social activities, meetings and an annual reunion. Members are also offered discounts on recordings, and complimentary tickets for at least two Cathedral concerts each year.

The association newsletter Choral Whispers is published three times a year and it gives news of the Choir´s current activities, articles and pictures about recent events, news of former choristers and choirmen and details of forthcoming events.
